Bernie Libster

Bernie Libster specializes in healing stories drawn from his own life experiences, e.g., the 10th anniversary of his heart attack scare, the search for the reason he came down to earth, the tragic woes of his Russian-Jewish immigrant family, his lifelong love for The Swan from Carnival of the Animals, his travels to other times and worlds, and his heart-rending experiences as a hospice volunteer.

Bernie has appeared for many years at the New Jersey Storytelling Festival, was a featured teller at the National Storytelling Conference’s regional showcase in Richmond, VA, in 2103, has told at Gilda’s Club, the New Jersey Hospice Volunteers’ Conference, and many other venues in the New York tri-state area. He is a member of the National Storytelling Network, the Healing Story Alliance, The New Jersey Storytelling Network, and the Storytelling Center of New York, and has translated and recorded stories of internationally beloved Italian children’s author Gianni Rodari.

He takes his singing, gardening, and especially cats very seriously. And he’d like to offer a huge tip of the hat to Jay O’Callahan for his encouragement over the past 15 years.
